Sugarfoot Farm is located in Columbia, KY on 26 acres of land with the most beautiful view in the county.
Sometimes we feel we've found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
(
This is a picture of our closest neightbors.)
We've lived in Columbia for two years now and life here is still great.  It's a much different life than CT.  There is no rat race.  People live life to the fullest here.  There is a sense of community and family is the most important thing.  Most of the local restaurants and businesses close on Sunday.  Everyone goes to church and then spends the day with family and friends - either 4 wheeling or trail riding or whatever.
Lacey did well again this year at the horse shows, finishing in the top 10 in AQHA for Amateur Jumpers.
She and I have qualified for the Amateur Select Quarter Horse Show to be held in Amarillo, TX in August.
This will be Lacey's last year of showing.  It's time for her to retire.
Garnet is four this year.  She has been green broke.  This year she'll be learning all the basics and next year - watch out world!
We have 30 horses here.  I'd love to cut back to only four horses - Blue, Whitney, Lacey, and Garnet.
But some of the horses are old timers that will be here forever.  So - hopefully we'll sell some and be left with only 12.
Blue is 27 this year and still acts like a youngster.  He has a foal due out of Betty.
He is stalled at the top of the hill, of course next to Whitney, the love of is life,
I do know how much longer he'll be able to breed so this year I want to breed him to Whitney.
That way I'll have a foal out of my two favorite horses.

The dogs and cats have taken over the house.  We are merely their guests who are also allowed to use the furniture.

OUR CANINE FAMILY
We have six Australian Cattle Dogs

In addition we have the following dogs:

Kelsey - is a Jack Russell/Beagle/Mianiature Aussie mix and she gets prettier every day.
We entered her in the Adair County Fair Pet Show and she won first in Cutest Dog and Best Mixed Breed
She was also entered in the Adair County Pet Idol contest.
She didn't win but the money went to a good cause, the Green River Animal Shelter and she'll always be first place in our eyes.

Maddie is a Rat Terrier that I adopted from our vet.  She doesn't let her size stop her.
Here's a picture of her beating the heat.

Ralph & Libby - our Dalmatians, are still with us. As long as they have each other (and Keith) they're happy.

Sydney my best dog, as I call him, is totally blind now but he still manages to be constantly at my side.
If anyone is ever looking for me if they see Sydney they know I'm not far.

Bevis -  Is a beagle that had been dropped off at a truck stop in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
The more we have him the more I want to send him back there
Keith named his Bevis, because he reminds us of two of our previous beagles.
He is built like Beamer and the same color as Elvis.

Hannah - I received a call from the shelter saying they had a "cattle dog" for me.
I went there and there was this little jet black dog with some gray on her toes.
(That was all of her that was "cattle dog".)
Her owners didn't need her anymore.
Well, Hannah's here to stay.  Except for Kelsey and Maddie she is the cutest little thing.

Hank & Rebel - I've always had a soft spot for beagles so when I got a call about 2 beagles needing a home I didn't hesitate.
These guys are brothers and think Bevis is just the greatest.  Bevis has been teaching them all the tricks of beagle bad behavior.

THE CATS

Star has gotten so beautiful.  She thinks her job is to keep the seat on the tractor warm.
Token, our Kentucky cat has had two litters of kittens.  She is now spayed.
From her first litter we have Bebe and Tweek.  Bebe is beautiful with big yellow eyes.
Tweek is a tiger cat (the only one) and isn't afraid of anything and is into everything.
JAMS was attacked by the dogs who broke her jaw in two places when she was 5 weeks old.
With the help of the area vet her jaw was fixed and she's become the poster child of Adair County Animal Hospital.
Although she has no bottom jaw she manages to eat and drink, this is her after a bowl of ice cream.
and play with her younger brother and sister, Sootie and Jaspa who were born in October.
Sootie is a typical male cat.  He attacks anything that moves and fears nothing.
Jaspa is a beautiful cat with long hair. She's studying to be a trapeze artist.  She wags her tail like a dog.

Now that we have been here for a year we have become pretty good tour guides.
The Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland, and Churchill Downs are about 2 hours away.
Bowling Green, Mamouth Cave and several of Kentucky's lakes are all within an hour or less.

There are flea markets, county fairs, Amish farms, bourbon distilleries and restaurants.
We are still offering horse transportation and have quality horses and ponies for sale
The welcome mat is always out.  If you're in the area please stop by.  We'd love to show off our new home!

We'll update our photos regularly so you can meet more of the family
