Sugarfoot Farm is located on 860 Sparksville Road in Columbia, KY
on 115 acres of land with the most beautiful view in the county.
Sometimes we feel we've found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
(
This is a picture of our closest neightbors.)
We've lived in Columbia for over 4 years now and life here is great.  It's a much different life than CT.  There is no rat race.
People live life to the fullest here.  There is a sense of community and family is the most important thing.
Most of the local restaurants and businesses close on Sunday.
Everyone goes to church and then spends the day with family and friends - either 4 wheeling or trail riding or whatever.

We have 26 horses here, as well as two Donkeys - Eeyore and his girlfriend, Deliah.
Plus the latest addition to our family is a mule named Dolly
We have some horses for sale but most of them have been with us for so long that they're not going anywhere.

 Garnet is six this year.
She is in training with Kit Gustafson in West Granby, CT and is ready to start showing.
Kit has been very patient with her and has developed Garnet's talent.

Blue is 29 this year and his age is starting to catch up with him.
He still enjoyes talking to the girls over the fence but he has a lot more gray hair.
He is stalled at the top of the hill next to Whitney, the love of his life.
His daughter, Whataimpresivelegacy, aka: Clover is here now.
She has her father's good looks and brains and her mother's height.
I've been riding her and hope to start showing her soon.

OUR CANINE FAMILY

Our canine family has expanded.
We keep the rescue dogs until they are placed and some become so attached to us
that we take them off of the adoption list and they become our "forever" dogs.

They are a big help on the farm.

They drive the tractor.

 They help bring in hay.

They help water the lawn.

They help with the manure spreader.

They take the truck to town to run errands.

Inside they help me do computer work.

They make the bed.

And they also help in the house doing the laundry.

And when they're day is done, they chill out

or join us for cocktails on the deck.

We are so lucky to have all of this help.

Kentucky has lots to offer. This year the Kentucky Horse Park will be hosting
the World Equestrian Games from September 25 to October 10.
I will be volunteering at the games during the Eventing and the Jumping.

The Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland, and Churchill Downs are about 2 hours away.
Bowling Green, Mamouth Cave and several of Kentucky's lakes are all within an hour or less.

There are flea markets, county fairs, Amish farms, bourbon distilleries and restaurants.

The welcome mat is always out.  If you're in the area please stop by.

We'll update our photos regularly so you can meet more of the family
